Barack bin Laden? Oh, wait a minute

The news that Osama bin Laden has been killed is not dumb. But media people sometimes are.

To be fair, the Obama administration can shoulder some of the blame — around the nation, editors were scrapping hours of (probably) good work to rebuild their front pages at the last possible minute.

But the mistake got made. It was inevitable.

The website PRDaily.com compiled an awesome list of the worst Osama/Obama screw-ups of the night. HERE’S a link to their coverage, but we’ve included some of the best (read, “worst”) below.

Perhaps by far the most egregious was when Norah O’Donnell, a correspondent for MSNBC mistakenly reported via Twitter that Obama had been shot and killed. She cited NBC Chief Pentagon Correspondent Jim Miklaszewski as her source for the info.

But there are more — oh, my God, there are more.
